Income Generation for Women, Egypt

Target: £3,610/€4,810 | Project 499

Helping impoverished women overcome discrimination

Women in Egypt face many challenges, including poverty, illiteracy, social restrictions and domestic violence.

The Anglican Diocese of Egypt is empowering impoverished women in Alexandria and Cairo by helping women to set up small businesses. The aim is to enable women to be self-reliant and economically independent, helping to break the cycle of poverty.

The diocese is also providing literacy classes and vocational training in skills such as carpentry and sewing.
