Target: £21,350/€24,560 | Project 442

Raising and nurturing church leaders of tomorrow

St Paul’s Theological College, in Ambatoharana, is the key training centre for the church in Madagascar. The college trains priests to respond effectively to the needs of the community and to manage multiple parish demands.

Being a priest in Madagascar can be demanding – with each priest looking after as many as six parishes, which can be miles apart. As well as Sunday service and visiting parishoners, priests oversee the Mothers’ Union, Scouts, Sunday school and the choir.

In their own words:

"Being part of the Anglican Church in Madagascar is a great privilege for me. Life is not easy, but I believe that all things are possible with God. At college we can learn from each other" - Jerry, St Paul’s student
